I hear a lot of questions related to lenses and sensor size. What is the difference between Full Frame and APS-C (a.k.a. Crop Frame)? Can I use Full Frame lenses on APS-C sensors or vice-versa? If so, how does that affect my image? Is one size better than the other? I’ve also heard and read some answers to these questions that either aren’t exactly accurate or are way too technical for most enthusiasts to enjoy. In this post I aim to simply answer these questions without getting too deep in the technical weeds.
Let’s geek out on camera gear! I’ve been playing with a ton of new gear in recent weeks, so for this winter holiday season I thought I’d do a video with some of my thoughts the gear I’ve been using and where photo gear is headed moving forward. You’ll also find a link to my 2018 holiday photo gift guide and all the gear I describe below the break.
Folks have really been stepping up in the critiques lately. We’re seeing a bunch of new faces, and some regulars whose work is showing great leaps forward in creativity, composition, and post-production work.
Hi everyone! Thanks again for sharing your fantastic photos with Rick and I. We have been enjoying seeing the world through your lenses and watching the improvement from month to month with the regular submitters. We hope you enjoy our critique this month, and if you haven’t submitted images for critique or commented on the galleries, I’d urge you to jump in and get involved. Looking at others’ images and having others comment on your own images is one of the best way to grow as a photographer.
Recently we sat down with Colin Smith of photoshopcafe.com. We are excited to announce he will be guest coaching in ON1 Plus next month (November) and sharing his knowledge of post-processing with us. Read more about Colin and welcome him to the community.
Submit your photos for this month’s “Your Photo Our Look” episode with ON1 Plus guest coach Matt Kloskowski! This is the popular video series when we take unedited photos submitted by ON1 customers and have them processed by certified ON1 gurus.
