About the ON1 Photo RAW Project

The ON1 Photo RAW Project gives you the chance to be a part of what we're developing at ON1. You have a voice in the future of photo editing. Your ideas will help us deliver the best available apps for photography, give us insight into what's most important, and help spark innovation.

You must log in to submit an idea.

Share Your Ideas

Share your ideas for new Photo RAW features. Make sure you write a convincing description. Remember, people won't be able to give an idea a high rating unless they understand the idea completely.

Tell Your Friends

With supporters, your ideas will get higher ratings. In fact, tell everyone you know to support your idea. The more ratings an idea gets, the more likely it will be sent to our product development team.

ON1 Will Review It

After an idea reaches 200 ratings with a 3-star or higher rating, the project team will review the details and begin asking questions. We can't put every good idea into development, but we'll try!

I do not get the control of the watermark placement that I would like to see.  It would be much better to have an x/y axis for watermark inset instead of the current system.

At the moment, On1 uses US date formatting. MMDDYYYY. This is unfamiliar in many parts of the world – for example UK uses DDMMYYYY. It would be great if On1 had an option to choose date formatting. Such a simple thing, but it would make it much easier for non-US residents to read dates at...
Many years ago, an online photo editing program offered a pet eye removal feature. (I think it may have been a PicNik product.) It was so easy to use. One simply clicked on the pet’s eye on the photo (it was usually green eye) and the eye was fixed with one simple click. There were...

By manual mode, I mean being able to adjust one side of the crop with the other three sides remaining where they were.  I would like to be able to move each side of the crop independent of the other sides.  I use PhiMatrix ( https://www.phimatrix.com/ ) as a cropping tool aid. This would be...

I would like to be able to choose preferences, e.g. in cropping, choosing “original ratio” coming up as default so I only have to change it to “freeform” on the rare occasions, that I use this. This way everybody can choose their own preferences.
Let’s assume I create a cataloged folder on one disk drive and create albums on this folder. If I now move the content of the cataloged folder to another drive or location I can use ‘locate’ to find the new location and make the folder  available again in On1. But whats about the created albums?...

Lightroom feature would be awesome for real estate photographers! Stack for each HDR grouping – then batch process. BAM! Just a thought  It takes a lot of time to process 30 HDR for a shoot – I find myself reverting to LR.

Is it possible to automated stack recognition and create a “presets” with a proper type of stacking (exposure bracketing for HDR, focus bracketing for stacking…) as starting points for further processing?
There is a new algorithm available that offers a great enhancement of resolution and image quality called EnhanceNet. Here is an article about this new technique: https://petapixel.com/2017/11/01/photo-enhancement-starting-get-crazy/ The algorithm was developed by a team from a German scientific insitute. There is even a phyton script available that works with this algorithm: https://github.com/msmsajjadi/EnhanceNet-Code If there would...
Currently when one chooses a filter, a default style is applied. Suggestion: Allow users to choose a default style from either the On1 styles or a custom style. For example, I often use a border filter (there are many styles to choose from). I use my own border style virtually every time, so rather than...

While I am in browse mode I can also assign presets – and see the result very quickly. Therefor I think it should be possible to adjust a few developing parameters without having to enter develop mode. Assigning (or removing) a preset does nothing else. I would like to change whites, blacks, exposure and white...

“Enable Filters” shouldn’t even be an option, because it should be enabled all the time. There is zero benefit for disabling filters, since it’s not filtering out anything unless you also choose a filter condition. Thank you.

The ability to have a tool/option to provide a Fill-in flash one-click tool (with a slider adjustment for the amount required) like many other better photo editing programs. This would allow objects in a photo like a dark face or shadows areas to  show  be lightened up as if flash was used. Currently, I have...

We have had the new Canon format with us since February 26 this year when the EOS M50 was released but until now, September 16, we still don’t have native RAW support for this format.  Now Canon have released the EOS-R and the CR3 file format and its new crx codec support both lossless ‘raw’ and...

In the Layers module is a line mask tool. This tool is not available in Effects or Develop. I propose to add it to Effects and Develop.

I was just wondering …other than renaming each version of photos created with different presets is there a way to easily determine upon reviewing images later which presets have been applied. Maybe I am missing something. I know that you can look at the thumbnails when applying to get an idea of what the image...
It is annoying to have to reset the brush size every time you select between a brush or mask tool and back . It always goes back to 250 which is never the size I need. Also, the size selector is too small for making fine adjustments, why can’t it be spread out a bit...

I would rather edit in On1 instead of Lightroom, but I NEED the ability the ability to see ALL images buy date, camera, lens etc. and not have to search through hundreds of folders to find a file. Lightroom has this feature but its Develop module is lacking, and I have to use Lightroom to...
One workflow is to work on successive source files, getting them as polished as you can get them; you have several works in progress, none of them complete. In this workflow, when you export the file, the filename is always the last-used filename overall, not the last-used filename for this particular image. On1 Raw should...

I would like to be able to undock filters from the panel so I can enlarge them such as the curves panel and panels when I’m using a filter so I don’t have to scroll up and down so much.
First of all. ON1 has an incredible number of good features. Impressive. With my first idea I want to address the wokflow. In every corner there are icons and tabs, or sliders. I am looking again and again in all 4 directions. I wish to bring the palettes together more. That means to merge functions...
I would like the ability to duplicate a filter.  For example, I sometimes use several blur filters, once I set the first one I would like to duplicate it as many times as I need to get the effect I’m looking for.
On many presets such as Dynamic Range I would like the ability to create a saved preset and make it my default so each time I select Dynamic Contrast or any other filter it will apply my default preset.

When in an album I go to edit a photo or just want to find a photo in the browse module.  When in the album I would like to have the option to right click and navigate to the photo in the folder structure of the browse module.

I like to name all my image files to the following protocol: Format Name:  < Custom Name_Image Date_ Image Time_Original file name > At the moment On1 Photo Raw only allows variations of Custom Name/Image Date_ Image Time/ Count. Consequently my workflow is unnecessarily unwieldy. Actually I don’t yet have a workaround. I would like...
Currently when you’re working on a mask and want to switch the view mode, the only way is to go to the menu, scroll to the bottom, then move to the right to select the mode. There should be an easier way to do this. I would like to see one of these options implemented....

I would like to see some more color labels. For additional categories of photography. Just adding another 4 or 5 extra would be much appreciated. Black, white gray/silver beige etc. Perhaps two shades of a color like blue or yellow. Thanks!

I use masks a lot and often create one which I use with many filters at once.  Trouble is… I sometimes change my mind about the mask!  This means I have to create the new mask in one filter and copy/paste the revised mask to all the others.    I would like the ability to...
