About the ON1 Photo RAW Project

The ON1 Photo RAW Project gives you the chance to be a part of what we're developing at ON1. You have a voice in the future of photo editing. Your ideas will help us deliver the best available apps for photography, give us insight into what's most important, and help spark innovation.

You must log in to submit an idea.

Share Your Ideas

Share your ideas for new Photo RAW features. Make sure you write a convincing description. Remember, people won't be able to give an idea a high rating unless they understand the idea completely.

Tell Your Friends

With supporters, your ideas will get higher ratings. In fact, tell everyone you know to support your idea. The more ratings an idea gets, the more likely it will be sent to our product development team.

ON1 Will Review It

After an idea reaches 200 ratings with a 3-star or higher rating, the project team will review the details and begin asking questions. We can't put every good idea into development, but we'll try!

In Photo Raw 2019 the workflow regarding picking a color range in Effects or color range in Local adjustments is that I first have to indicate that I want to pick a color and then click the eye dropper tool to pick the color I want. It would be a faster and more intuitive workflow...
It would be nice to be able to navigate to a folder in Browse by typing in a letter as is done in Windows Explorer. It would be so much faster than scrolling down all of the folders.

It would be nice to quick export a file to a specific file size in Mb instead of a percentage… Sometimes you have to have to export a JPEG to a maximum file size in Mb. It’s difficult to achieve this using percentages.

I miss in the EXIF data the name of the software, with which program the photo was edited. Please add it.
Given that most files come off the camera with uppercase file extensions and Mac and Linux can have case-sensitive file systems, saving the exports and copies with lowercase extensions can cause confusion (not to mention when sharing a workflow from Mac to Windows and back have name collisions). It would be extremely useful to include...

I would like to see the Polarizing Filter as a separate new Filter in the Effects mode. This filter could incorporate the current Polarizing Filter along with some related sliders. As far as I can tell, the Polarizing Filter is now only available as a slider in the Photo Filter panel. To use the Polarizing...
Like the results of cut outs in Photo Raw!  But there are a few user interface items that could be (easily) improved: Paint in/Paint out selection: it would be easier to have setable buttons to click than to ve to click a drop down ox and then select the item. I have only used Photo...
Hi, I have some experience with Paintshop Pro but have been looking for a better answer for masking/cut outs.  So recently, I have looked at several products (yours, Topas ReMask, FluidMask and a few others).  I like the results from Photo RAW best, however there are a few features of the others that I find...
one of the most useful features on other similar programs I have used was called smudge tool.  This allows one to “push” surrounding colors/textures into an adjacent areas.  this proved useful as a cleanup to other remove and fill tools, or took care of very small issues. being new to your tool, I have not...
Please implement a Flow adjustment for the brushes. I understand that opacity is a similar adjustment for a brush but is not the same as Flow. In simple terms the difference is with flow you don’t have to constantly keep clicking on the brush to make it build up  you just keep moving it back-and-forth...
Situation: when I come back from photo shootings, I cannot always go immediately thru all photos in a folder and edit the best ones. It may take several editing sessions on my computer to complete the work. I may also be working on several projects in parallel. Presently, it is not easy to figure out...
When I load in more than 1 layer I may want to crop one but not all – as is the case now with the crop tool.  Otherwise there is a significant hassle to attempt to crop a layer on its own and then load it back into the other layers.

Lens Correction and Metadata Automatic lens correction requires On1 to read the file to determine which lens was used to take the image. Unfortunately, for reasons I can’t nail down, On1 doesn’t always automatically read the lens information from the file. The workaround, is Browse > [file] > Photo > Read metadata from photo. This...
Keyboard shortcuts for moving up or down through directories in Browse.  For mac it would make sense to use the same browser and finder shortcuts of Command [  and Command ] to navigate. It’s a bit crazy to have to use a mouse on the breadcrumbs or column view just to move back up to...

I have a .gpx file with a series of timestamps and waypoints. I would love to be able to import this data and automatically update the metadata of any matching photos.
If you search for an image by keyword, all the other keywords are still visible regardless of whether they are relevant to the selection. You end up with a long list of keywords with zero images. Even if you have keywords that are relevant, the number of hits is relevant only to that search. Suggest...
I have been seeing ” inception panoramas”,  where drone photos are taken from ascending levels. these apparently were processed in photoshop, my least favorite option! an automated or simplified means to do this would be a large incentive to a lot of drone owners. perhaps a module within pano ?
The addition of the Portrait mode for adjusting individual faces is a nice feature. Since On1 can find the faces for you, it would be great if we had the tools to do additional work to make the faces individually better by having Tone and Color available per face.   Often times in bad lighting conditions...
I want to look at the thumbnails in Browse and visually see if a photo has already been assigned to an Album.
How can ON1 replace Photoshop and Lightroom if they don’t support presets and brushes from these programs? Please add support so those who have purchased presets and brushes can use them with ON1. Also please create a way to import Aperture Libraries while maintaining keywords, metadata, etc. as much as possible. I have over 80000...
I often have a number of images that I want to print. In ON 1 I can only print one image at a time. Very time consuming.
Have the ability to Target an album to quickly add photos to the selected Album with a shortcut key. For example if I have an album called Zoo, have the ability to make that a Targeted Album where photos can quickly be added to it by using a shortcut key. Right now when I want...
Please check if it is possible to create different styles in Focus Stacking programm like averge or mean style. Something like it was realized in PS. Thanks

Just upgraded to Photo Raw 2019. Very nice improvement but there is one annoying issues that remains. Why do border/filters have to be in two places? On the left under filters and again, but not duplicated on the right under filters? Those on the left are so much more user friendly due to the nice...
Allow spot removal to be placed on a layer so it can be managed like other adjustments and be easily modified later.
For the hobbyist,  we don’t all take pictures of the same thing, ie a photoshoot. I often go walking with my camera and will take photos of my dog, my partner, bugs, flowers, etc So it’s often not practical to keyword these situations on import. Perhaps hold a list of ten last used keywords. So...

Automatic grouping of burst shots eg idetified with the timestamp in the metadata. Useful for sports, action shots. Manual grouping also possible eg. for panoramashots. And of define the outcome as top Define one best shot as top of the group, the visible one, you could also call it a stack. You could customize the...

Hi. I think it would be really great if you returned the version 2018 feature whereby double clicking on a RAW file opened directly into On1 Photo rather than only opening into the enclosed folder. As an event photographer I often go back to a folder of photos on my iMac desktop and use the...
