About the ON1 Photo RAW Project

The ON1 Photo RAW Project gives you the chance to be a part of what we're developing at ON1. You have a voice in the future of photo editing. Your ideas will help us deliver the best available apps for photography, give us insight into what's most important, and help spark innovation.

You must log in to submit an idea.

Share Your Ideas

Share your ideas for new Photo RAW features. Make sure you write a convincing description. Remember, people won't be able to give an idea a high rating unless they understand the idea completely.

Tell Your Friends

With supporters, your ideas will get higher ratings. In fact, tell everyone you know to support your idea. The more ratings an idea gets, the more likely it will be sent to our product development team.

ON1 Will Review It

After an idea reaches 200 ratings with a 3-star or higher rating, the project team will review the details and begin asking questions. We can't put every good idea into development, but we'll try!

ON1 Photo RAW Ideas

One powerful feature that might be useful to a lot of users would be the “Blend If” tool.  This could be used in many cases, in layers, in lieu of having to create masks.  Replacing grey skies, for example, would be one use for this feature.

i’d like to be able to convert my photos into watercolour effect images, or oil effect, some kind of painterly feel to them.

I sort my photos several ways, but the most important catalogues are done by location. However, when I want a photo of a particular subject that is found in many different shooting locations, I need to do a keyword search in all of the catalogued folders. And then I want to place that selection into...

I shoot a lot of black and white film and prefer to scan those in at 16-bit greyscale. 16-bit for the tonal headroom and greyscale (as opposed to color) for the space savings since it’s black and white. Looks like ON1 only supports high bitrate color TIFFs which kinda disturbs my workflow a bit too...

Please add a moving slider for comparing the before and after edit. The current A/B comparison, the slider is unmovable and makes us move the image instead of the slider.
Would be a great option if you can develop/add iCloud Drive as an online storage service while syncing with the mobile app. Currently only dropbox or google options. Most of us already pay/have the iCloud Drive by default while using the Mac/iphone. Thanks, keep up the great work   Cheers
It would be cool if I could select 2-4 images, optionally select an area on one of the matching photos to test, and have On1 come back and tell me which of the 2-4 images is the sharpest in that area.  That would make it quicker to cull shoots where you’ve taken multiple shots of...

It would be a nice feature if there was a duplicate finder. This would allow us to free up space on our hard drives by finding exact duplicates. Reviewing them. Then deleting them. As I have copied photos and videos on my hard drive and renamed them I have found that there are many duplicates...
Hi, the first step of my workflow is to pick and reject photos. It really drives me crazy that the P and X keys have to be used for this, and they are on opposites ends of the keyboard.  I have to move my hands and look at the keys frequently to do this process...
The new renaming tools in ON1 are very good. I would like to be able to save each renaming set as a preset so thar I could easily switch back and forth. I would also like the option to automatically begin each sequential renaming with the with the number 1.

I will lke to see option of saving a file with maximum size. (e.g. when saving a file i will like to control file size below 2MB/3 MB.) This is important as many websites allow to showcase your work but allow only if file size is below 2 MB)
It would be really helpful to have golden rule/fibonacci grids available. They’re available in LR and I regularly crop with them. A quick fix which would be easily to provide users is a series of grids that can be downloaded as textures and used temporarily and then deleted after cropping. Better would be grids that...
I’d like to suggest the following functions be added to the print dialog: black point compensation – density is potentially smoother while maintaining tonal detail, enhanced rendering intent – additional options for managing out-of-gamut colors, free positioning / cropping of image – grab image corners/sides to resize within dialog box before printing; freeform re-sizing helps preview what...
It would be nice if the GPS field converted from Latitude and Longitude Decimal Entry to DMS. You could throw a error if it could not be converted.
In managing my photos I use a system based off the Krogh File naming system. Problem is I am having a hard time using it the way I like with ON1 Photo Raw. The naming convention I use is as follows. The Krogh system goes as follows: {Originator string}-{date string}-{unique identifier sequence number}.extention The rename...
I am frequently having to replace some text on a rename. It would be nice if we could find using MSDOS wildcard format and rename based upon what was matched. For example I have a file I have named as untitled-2018-0430-7187.NEF I want this renamed to location-2018-0430-7187.NEF

I shoot Fujifilm cameras, the GFX 50S, X-T2, X-H1, and the X-T1.  While I would love for ON1 Photo RAW to support tethering with these cameras, I suspect that is a very tall order.  Simpler and more versatile would be for Photo RAW to support automatic importing of files that appear in a watched folder. ...
It would be nice if the system filtered out and hid the photos that have already been imported that still reside on your SD Card.

Would like the ability to take two photos taken slightly apart of the same area and stitch them together with different colors for each image that can be filtered with colored glasses. Perfect for pictures taken in mountainous terrain (National Parks). https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Anaglyph_3D

Because many of the better film scanners have scanner RAW capability that can be saved as DNG files it would be useful to be able to invert files from negative to positive for more effective processing.
We are now able to use the date taken as part of the renaming process. A great addition. I would like to be able to save the rename settings as a preset so that I can use the settings over again.
When using a colour range for masking, it would be helpful to be able to invert that selection to make adjustments and to be able to copy/paste and still invert for further adjustments on other filters.
This lens has been out for over a year, but no profile exists for it yet.
My 36 Mb Raw files turn into 600Mb monsters after 3-4 filters in Effects. Unfortunately, there are still many reasons why I cannot abandon Lightroom just yet; there are too many features that LR does that cannot or cannot be done as well (yet) in Photo Raw. Can you at least add a “flatten layers”...

Hey guys can we have raw support for the Sony A7 III Thanks
The Publish To Mobile feature in PhotoRAW 2018.1 currently strips out the EXIF data from the photo. I know it’s designed for use with the iOS app, but the feature can also be used by Android users with Google Drive to get photos in On1 into Google Photos without exporting/syncing. (Using the Google Drive Backup...
This is similar to another idea that is flagged under review, but I need MP rather than MB. I submit to various agencies, and I don’t want to submit anything larger than necessary. I have found by trial and error that limit size to 6MP covers all the bases. Limiting long/short size to 3K or...
The current version as of 4/18, does not support “Custom” sorting. While custom sorting on the desktop is available, it does not carry over to the mobile version. This would be critical if using ON1 Mobile to show your photos to clients on the iPad. The use of sub-folders in this program would also be...
I have struggled with Elements 14 with this issue of printing four 5×3.5 photos on a letter size photo paper. A member of our Lensmen’s club demonstrated how user friendly ON1 is to work with, so, I bought it recently. I began searching for how to print more than one photo per page and am...
