In version ON1 Photo Raw 2026 4.1 Max I have not been able to find a way of preventing Face Recovery. Even though there is no face on a moth (insect) A face is generated from colour differences. If the Face Recovery is switched to Disable it is not retained in the program next time around. Also, when Restore is selected there is also no way to disable face recovery, the program immediately starts to process the image and a face is created.
Clicking on RESTORE needs to trigger a dialog box where options can be selected or deselected. The program does have a very liberal concept of what it thinks may be a face and can generate some very amusing but annoying results

can’t prevent restore Ai icon from just taking off the moment its click. Not possible to make changes before it takes off.

I am having the same problem. I cannot switch of Face recovery while using Restore AI.
