This month the challenge was the reverse kind and the Plus community had some awesome ideas! Hudson and I went out and photographed our respective cities in the typical Street Photography style! Here is my take on the challenge… and thank you for an actual challenge!

It was a very trying past month for several of us at ON1 dealing with the wildfires and smoke in the Pacific Northwest. We’re happy to say that everyone at ON1 is safe and healthy, although we were all affected in one way or another. We hope the same can be said for our members and friends in the photo community. The rain and winds shifted, and now the beautiful fall weather is upon us—it’s the perfect time to get out and shoot!
In the Plus community, we welcomed back an old friend, Matt Kloskowski stepped in as coach and produced a stellar course on Fixing Common Photo Problems. Hudson had a pair of great videos and Dylan created another How to Shoot episode. The links to all the courses and videos this past month are below. Happy Father’s Day to all the dads and grandpas out there! It is a perfect day to not only celebrate Dad’s but to celebrate relationships. I enjoy being able to photograph my husband with our kids embracing the things that they love to do together. If you have little ones, ask them what their favorite things are about their dad or what they love to do with them? If you asked my son, Lennox he says giving Daddy hugs (he’s three).

Sun? Or is it Fire? I am told our last element should be “Fire” But ironically while I was creating this course for you guys there was a fire ban here in Oregon. They were putting up signs on the beach while we were shooting. So I decided, Sun was more appropriate for our final element. Sun can be your friend or your enemy. It is good practice to learn how to work with it.
