Really enjoyed the tutorial. My only question was once you created the stamped layer at the end and wanted to turn it off and on, you reset the layer below it. Why did you do that? Was that necessary?

I would assume Dylan reset the layer so you could see the before and after shot, had the layer not been reset then you would have seen the masked version rather than the original.

This was initially described as “easy,” but given the number of steps shown in the video how am I, and probably many more supposed to learn from this? To me the answer is “easy.” It’s time a PRINTED comprehensive guide were made available for purchase. Yeah, I know that anything in printed form is becoming obsolete, but that’s how I can actually LEARN something. I know that On1 is an excellent app, but I shy away from using it because just in looking at the interface I have no intuitive idea as how even to get started, and the available video tutorials just add to the frustration. So I keep paying for new versions to hold on to, just in case my Photoshop and PS Elements somehow fail me. But I’d love to adopt On1 as my main photo editing tool, but not until it becomes “easier” to use!

I found this video super helpful, as I did with all the foundation videos. Your teaching style reasonates well with me. Of course, pretty much all the instructors do a great job, but with your videos like this one, I get a lot of info in about 7 minutes in and way and fluid manner. Thank you.

Thanks for this somewhat quick video. It is quite helpful as I have avoided using the masking tools in On1 but this shows some easy ways to mask that I will use in the future.

I enjoyed the video, as masking is always tricky.
Just one thing… at 00:45 I think you meant “…option, if you’re using a Mac”

Great information on the masking tool…. I too have avoided using it but then again, I really didn’t understand it like this video just represented. I am going to give a shot and see how well it works for me…. Thanks again for this video….
