Soft Proofing is a new feature in ON1 Photo RAW 2018.1 – coming soon. Soft proofing is the ability to view a simulation of how your image will look when printed based on specific printer and paper profiles. This new feature coming to ON1 Photo RAW 2018.1 will allow you to simulate what your photos look like when they are printed on certain types of paper.

A new local adjustment feature is just for noise. This allows you to decrease or increase noise locally which also allows you to selectively control the amount of noise in certain areas of your photo.
One of the new options in Photo RAW 2018 is the ability to paint with color. This allows you to paint with a solid color or replace the color of an object in the photo.

It is unfortunate that we can’t always have the most abundant skies when we are out and about. My wife always says, “It’s a beautiful day, not a cloud in the sky!” I can’t stand it, as a landscape photographer we need those puffy softboxes to drown out shadows and add interest to that big blue blob of negative space.

Of all the retouching tools included in ON1, one of the best is the Clone Stamp tool. In version 2017.5, the Clone Stamp is available in the non-destructive workflow part of Develop and Effects.
The Insert Preset command in Effects is back in version 2017.5. This feature makes it easy to stack multiple presets and create even more looks in Effects. Just hover over a preset and hold down the alt/option key and when you click on the preset it will stack it on top of your other settings.
