My First Look at Photo RAW
I visited ON1 HQ last week and got a demo of the much anticipated Photo RAW with Dan Harlacher. First off, yes it is really fast, cool, and revolutionary. I wanted to highlight four things I am most excited about.
ON1 360° is the Next Big Thing
Leading up to the release of ON1 360° in late June, we will be releasing sneak peek videos every week. These videos will show you how exciting new technologies in ON1 360° will work together and improve your photography. This powerful synchronization platform will allow you to view and edit photos, no matter where they live, on any of your devices using ON1 Photo RAW and the new ON1 Photo Mobile. What To Do When the Shoot Goes Haywire
THE KITESURFING TRIP THAT WASN’T: As you guys know, last month Stacey, some friends and I took kitesurfing gear, photography equipment, and 6-week-old baby Pike to South Texas to kite and photograph in warm water for 10 days. I’ll get it right out of the way. This trip did not go as planned, but we had a blast anyway.
December 2018 Photo Critiques — Submit Your Photo Now
You’ve been submitting some fantastic images for critiques and it’s a blast to see so many new members putting up images. Rick and I have been really enjoying seeing the world through your lenses and watching the improvement from month to month with the regular submitters. If you haven’t submitted images for critique or commented on the galleries, I’d urge you to jump in and get involved. Looking at others’ images and having others comment on your own images is one of the best way to grow as a photographer.
November Plus critiques update
Hi all, I have two notes regarding the monthly Plus critiques:
(1) The November critiques are now open, and we’ll be accepting submissions for a little bit longer than usual — through the end of the day Friday, November 15. There’s no overarching theme this month, so show us your best stuff! (Colorful foliage, pumpkins, frosty mornings, moody portraits, perhaps?)
(2) Regarding the missing October critiques video, I can only plead that it was a crazy month for all of us. The release of ON1 Photo RAW 2020 was a huge deal, and some changes to the ON1 website left the Plus galleries unavailable for a while. And at the beginning of the month, Hudson and I were off on an epic workshop/scouting expedition to Yellowstone, the Tetons and Moab; mid-month, Hudson had to leave for his Patagonia workshop. Don’t despair, though: Hudson will be back next week, and we’ll do the October critiques as soon as we can. We’ll follow up in late November with this month’s critiques video. (Please don’t resubmit your October photos to the November critiques.)
Live Q&A: Light & Composition
First an apology for the technical difficulties we had with the live Q&A session today.
