Masking in ON1 Photo RAW 2026 is more powerful than ever with all-new Mask Layers. Now you can combine multiple masks on any layer, adjustment, or filter—adding, subtracting, or intersecting them for precise results. Each mask layer has its own refine controls, giving you flexibility to adjust density, feather, and levels independently. Complex masking has never been this easy.

Background fails to detect background. When trying to correct it with a brush it adds another layer. Delete and start over with a brush mask. Now the brush doesn’t work. Let’s try Subject, nope nothing detected. BTW their are two people in the foreground. OK, let’s try using the more add/subtract. Subject and Background still don’t work. But the brush does. Hunt and peck to find the invert, found, now Paint & Erase are backwards.
Rather a rolling disaster at the moment.
