In Another World
The main subject of this photo is the backside of an antique car headlamp, which caught my eye in a junkyard. I liked how the peeling paint and rust made it look like a globe with continents on it. The junkyard background was very busy, so I turned this into a composite, with a background photo that I took several years ago of Comet Neowise in the night sky. The compositing really enhanced the sense that the headlamp represented a planet somewhere in a different world.
Post processing notes:
All of the processing was done in ON1 Photo Raw. I Denoised the background image of the comet and lowered its saturation and exposure. The car headlamp was enhanced with a bit of Dynamic Contrast and Glow in order to bring out some contrast in the details. I also darkened the lower left - the hood of the antique car. Compositing was done using layers and the Super Select tool.Exif information:
