Rosette Nebula

The Rosette Nebula is a star forming nebula located 5200 light years from earth. The intense radiation from newly born stars ionizes the gases in the nebula thereby causing them to emit light. The photograph was captured using a Dwarf 3 portable telescope and consists of 398 individual 15 second exposures that were stacked.

Editing notesThe stacking and stretching of the multiple images was performed in SIRIL (astrophotography software) and the color editing was done in ON1 Photo Raw. Multiple edits in the Development tab including Brilliance AI, Tone & Color adjustments, Structure, Vibrance, and Saturation, as well as a Dynamic Contrast filter.
