Eyes on the prize

Taken on a Saturday afternoon in April 2026, this red kite is one of many that visit a local retired butcher who feeds them daily. A warm and welcoming traditional Welsh man, he gladly shares the experience with visiting photographers.
While the image captures a moment of speed and precision, photography is about more than pictures. It is the friendships, conversations and shared passion that make days like this truly memorable. Taken 1/1600 seconds, f11 iso 1600 with Nikon Z5II. Photographer: Ray Clarke.
