Turkey Moon
On an early February morning we set out to try to capture turkeys starting their annual courtship display. These young turkeys had not quite gotten the hang of it yet as they clumped up together and sort of stumbled over each other trying to learn from the older gentlemen in the group. They were hysterical to watch. I walked away that morning with a smile on my face as it remined me of what it was like when you are young and trying to figure things out. The antics we all must surely have displayed in our own way were I am sure, as equally hysterical in their own way.
Post processing notes:
All editing was done in ON1 Photo RAW 2026. I initially started with cropping to remove distractions on the lefthand side. I then did a few adjustments in the Develop Mode. From there, I used Dynamic Contrast, and I also selected the background and used Glow but brought the opacity down so as to not strongly overwhelm the subject from the background. I then used Sharpen a bit, but not strongly so. I inched up Vibrance a little in Develop. Nikon D500 f/5.6 1/500 sec ISO 1000 2/17/26Exif information:
