The Wake
While on a recent cruise down the Mississippi, was on our balcony taking photos. Not much going on, but noticed the boat’s wake. Took a few test shots to come up with settings that were good. Took 3 bursts: outer edge, mid-wake, and near the hull. Picked 3 from each burst and made a 3 x 3 composite, then added a Title plus location, date/time and photo info on the bottom. Won’t repeat these details here; see the submission. Also, this photo was conceived before your contest and only submitted with minor tweaks afterwards.
Post processing notes:
Edited in On1 2026.4 only. Photos are all un-cropped. All 9 were initially processed using both Noise and Sharpening which did an amazing job. Then they were added to a Canvas sized to provide black boarders, arranged using the Transform tool and then Stamped into a composite. This composite was then Developed in Tone and Color and the following Effects: B&W (the muddy Mississippi color isn't pretty), Tone Enhancer, Dynamic Contrast, and a subtile S-Curve. The Canvas was then expanded to add a Title plus location, date/time, and photo shooting info. Finally, it was Exported and then Resized into the 36 x 27 inch, 50 MB photo. 50 MB is too large, so I'll send a smaller, less detailed 16 x 12inch version that doesn't do it justice!Exif information:
