I was in Assisi, Italy, in the early hours of the morning, as a thick blanket of fog completely enveloped the valley. As I ascended, I suddenly emerged above that sea of ​​mist, and against the light, the profile of the basilica appeared, almost suspended between earth and sky. The warm light of dawn filtered through the fog, transforming the landscape into a stark, almost unreal scene, where details gave way to shapes and atmospheres.
What struck me was the contrast between the solidity of the architecture and the impalpability of the fog, capable of obscuring the landscape while simultaneously enhancing its most iconic elements. I felt the urge to photograph that moment because it held something unique and unrepeatable: for a few minutes, the basilica seemed to emerge from a sea of ​​light, evoking a sense of stillness, mystery, and spirituality. I sought to translate into image that very feeling of discovery, when nature and light transform a familiar place into a completely new vision.
