Floating mountains
This photo was taken at Zhangjiajie National Park which located in souther part of China. It is also a UNESCO World Heritage Site. More than 3,000 tall quartz-sandstone pillars rise almost straight upward from the forest valleys. The mountains often sit inside clouds and mist, making them look like “floating”. That surreal look also inspired the Hallelujah Mountains in the movie Avatar.

Post processing notes:
This photo I took almost 10 years ago, but try to re-edited with ON1 Photo RAW 2026.4, refined with some local adjustments, and applied effects - Dynamic Contrast, Color Mixer & Glow, then slightly applied with Vignette. The results are catching up the true feeling at the surrounding area.Exif information:
