Colorado Potato Beetle at Dusk
I found this Colorado Potato Beetle in the countryside at the end of September, feeding on a tomato plant as the evening light was coming in. There were several beetles around, but this one caught my attention and I managed to capture it while feeding, with enough detail to see its body and markings clearly.
Post processing notes:
Edited in ON1 Photo RAW 2026. I focused the adjustments on the beetle itself, balancing the exposure and contrast to bring out the detail in the head and elytra. I added a vignette to keep the focus on the insect, and used Color Mixer and Color Grading to fine-tune the overall color tone.Exif information:
