This portrait was taken at the Singapore Botanic Gardens at 4:42pm, shortly after a resident black swan surfaced from feeding underwater. The water droplets on its dark feathers caught the afternoon light, giving the moment a quiet sparkle. I chose a close portrait instead of a full-body shot to focus on its elegance, texture, and striking natural contrast.
Post processing notes:
Edited in ON1 Photo RAW 2026 with minor cropping to improve the composition. I used the Effects feature for the main adjustments, as I found it intuitive as a beginner to the software. The edit was kept subtle to preserve the natural feel of the image while enhancing the texture, contrast, and water droplets on the swan.Exif information:
