Early in the morning on an summer morning in August 2025 I took a walk to the nearby Basilika. I like the retrained clear Romanic style of the architecture. My Pentax K-1 II together with the DFA 24-70 f 2.8 is my universal tool for such a quick walk-by.
However, a Romanic church will never be enlightend as a Gothic Cathedral. I wanted to give the church a more eerie mood.
Post processing notes:
I made some basic adjustments first, by using the lens correction and the transformation tool, as to straighten the whole building. As to achieve the new lighting goal, a then new filter came in real handy. I changed the lighting completely with depth lighting. I toned down the foreground and relighted the Apsis of the basilca with a bright, warm light. Some small tonal adjustments wer the applied. As to focus the attention in my 24mm shot, my last change was the application of the big softy vignette.Exif information:
