Union Station, Night Light
I was at the Kansas City Union Station for a star-viewing event when that night’s lighting caught my eye. The station’s an old friend and I’ve shot there many times; the high-contrast white-and-green is something I hadn’t captured before, and the KC Chiefs and Disney 100 banners added a nice touch.
Shot taken with a Sigma fp and an adapted Konica Hexanon 40mm f/1.8 lens; the camera’s easy to carry and has great IQ, and the Hexanon is a favorite.
Post processing notes:
Shot edited completely in On1 2024. I shot underexposed to avoid blowing out highlights with the high-contrast lighting; post-processing involved boosting overall exposure, tweaking the black levels to get the sky purely black, boosting white levels to bring out the arches, and using Dynamic Contrast to accentuate the architectural details on the building. Finally, NoNoise AI did a great job of cleaning up.Exif information:
