The Abduction of a Sabine Woman
This is the sculpture work of Flemish sculptor Giambologna as seen at the Galleria dell’Accademia di Firenze in Florence, Italy. The work stands about 13 feet in height and is only diminished by being surrounded by many other beautiful pieces, including the famous ‘David’ who stands nearby. The attempt here is to create in my rendition, something of the mood of the original tragic scene in Ancient Rome.
