Oak Alley Plantation
In February, 2016, I took this photo about a half hour before the grounds were open to the public. Nobody bothered me so all was good. The actual photo was taken early in the morning, and I was mainly interested in capturing the canopy created by the oak trees that were planted 100 years before the mansion was built. I also wanted to capture the shot when there were no people on the gounds. Oak Alley is about 40 minutes North of New Orleans. About 100 yards behind the camera is the West bank of the Mississippi river. All in all, it is a geat place for photo opps.
Post processing notes:
I played around with the original color photo for days and then started looking into a black & white photo which, I felt, really captured the mood I was looking for. All in all, there are probably over 100 edits in this photo. The photo was shot with a Pentax K-10D camera set at 45mm, using a 16mm-45mm F4.0 lens. The ISO was set to 100 with a shutter speed to 1/90th of a second and an aperture of F4 (I wish I had a tripod with me). All edits were done inside of ON1 Photo Raw.Exif information:
