After the Recital – 2019
In 2019, I took my then 6 year old granddaughter to a Christmas party. There were puppets and Santa and these young women from local dance academy performed excerpts from the Nutcracker (my granddaughter was absolutely entranced!). After their performance I happened to be walking past and was attracted by the light and their grace and innocence of the camera. I got this one and tried to reset to get less window and more of the foreground reflection on the floor but by the time I got there, they were aware of me and the moment was gone.
Post processing notes:
I am a long-time On1 user and used the develop module for basic settings as well as reducing the Structure and pushing the Haze slider a bit. I used the color enhancer, color adjustment and a glow to try to achieve a soft, painterly effect. I hope I succeeded! I also used the Perfect Eraser to reduce the distracting, dark lines of the window panes behind the dancers. I am an old-school kinda guy and I like the subtlety which On1 allows me to apply effects.Exif information:
