Scrub Jay at Claremont CA Botanical Gardens
The first Sunday of the month, the Audubon Society hosts a bird walk at the Claremont CA Botanical Gardens. It was after 11 am, this Scrub Jay was spotted in a tree some distance away with an acorn in it’s beak. I set the desired zoom, focused and captured several frames before the Jay flew away. Taken with a Canon EOS R5, using an RF100-500mm zoom lens combined with a 1.4X teleconverter.
Post processing notes:
As a standard process procedure when I first load the image into On1 Photo Raw is: 1. Enable Brilliance AI and Lens correction. 2. Make any further adjustments to exposure, contrast and color balance as necessary. 3. Noise reduction an image sharpening. 4. Photo filters are typically applied. 5. In this case the sky was masked and treated separately to avoid over compensation.Exif information:
