While sorting through my parents’ old photographs, I came across this remarkable wedding portrait and was struck by the elegance of the attire. The inscription on the reverse indicates that the photograph was taken in May 1953. It was scanned using a Samsung SM-G955F (4 mm).
Post processing notes:
Using ON1 Restore AI, I restored and enhanced the photograph, replacing the original indoor hall background with a more suitable outside setting. I carefully corrected the subject’s face to carefully preserved its original appearance, then saved the image before applying additional effects. Further adjustments included emphasizing the subject in black and white, and retouching the portrait for a cleaner and more refined look. To create greater depth, I applied a background blur of 10 to the trees and a softer blur of 5 to the flowers. The final touch was a subtle antique-style rounded border, enhancing the timeless character of the photographExif information:
