Floating Mountain, China
This photo was taken at Zhangjiajie National Park which located in souther part of China. It became China’s first national forest park in 1982 and is also a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
More than 3,000 tall quartz-sandstone pillars rise almost straight upward from the forest valleys. The mountains often sit inside clouds and mist, making them look like “floating”. That surreal look also inspired the Hallelujah Mountains in the movie Avatar.
