Waterton-Glacier International Peace Park
This image was made just after sunrise in Waterton, Canada on August 22nd, 2012 with a Panasonic DMC-LX5. Settings are:
ISO 80, 1/50th sec at f/4
The image was taken from the bluffs next to the world famous Prince of Wales Hotel during very windy conditions. A rainbow appeared and seemed to terminate at the MV International which is the ferry used to shuttle passengers from Waterton to Goat Haunt, Montana via Upper Waterton Lake which straddles the Canadian/American border.

Post processing notes:
Using ON1 PhotoRaw Max 2026.4 I first enabled Brilliance AI at Auto Amount 120 in the Develop module. Then using the Tone & Color section I adjusted both the black and white points using the Black and White sliders in conjunction with the clipping notification feature (J shortcut key). I then added both Midtones and Shadows while reducing Highlights. Next, using Super Select in a Local adjustment I masked the sky and lowered the exposure value 1 EV at 100% opacity to bring out detail and color in the sky. Then, using Super Select I masked the left side of the canyon and lightened it .6 EV to make it match the rest of the scene. Then, using Super Select I masked the water and added Vibrance at 100% opacity. Next, in the Effects module I added Surreal Dynamic Contrast globally at 100% opacity. Also in Effects I added Color Enhancer Fall style (100% opacity) and Color Enhancer Desert style (80% opacity) globally. Finally, using the Glow filter I masked just the water and used the Lighter style.Exif information:
