Twilight Transformed
Captured on a bleak and rainy afternoon in Iceland, the original raw file of Mount Kirkjufell featured great long-exposure water textures but lacked the emotional impact of the landscape.
Post processing notes:
Back in the studio, I chose to lean into digital artistry, using ON1 Photo RAW 2026 to introduce an AI long-exposure sky filled with deep magentas and swirling violets via the 'Sunset 022 model B' preset. What I am most proud of is the deliberate harmony achieved between reality and digital manipulation. Utilizing the software's Reflection module, I was able to effortlessly blend those vibrant sky tones back into the natural water’s surface and foreground rocks, ensuring the final piece feels like a seamless, cinematic dreamscape rather than a standard composite. Additionally, I used the AI Selection Brush to precisely isolate the foreground grasses and rocks, subtly adjusting their tones to anchor the entire image. Remarkably, what once would have taken hours of meticulous masking was beautifully realized in under thirty minutes, allowing my creative vision to come to life exactly as imagined.Exif information:
