The ‘Naked girl’ at Downtown of Porto, Portugal
The “Naked Girl” refers to a white statue situated on the central promenade near the base of Avenida dos Aliados. The statue depicts a young woman with a broad smile on her face seated on a pedestal. Several copper heads, adorned with waterspouts protruding from their mouths, are embedded in the sides of the pillar. Officially known as the “Menina Nua – A Juventude” or the “Youth Statue,” it was sculpted by Henrique Araújo Moreira in 1929.
