Supermoon 11-07-2026
Photo was taken from the Markusberg, an elevation on the Westside of the river Mosel, just face-to-face my hometown Trier.
I did this shot with my then new Pentay K-3III and the Wonderful DA 560mm at f 5.6,
Taken almost to heading North a wonderful moon rose at ca 0645 p.m.
One can see the wonderful strucure on the moon, directly in front of the powerlines that cross the EIfel ( a low mountain range in the state of Rhineland-Palatinate) almost 30km away from Trier.
The dark slope of the Markusberg is the base for the far Eifel hills crowned by the rising ornage glowing Moonball shortly after it’s rise, lying in the fading misty clouds, falling down on this cold evening.
Post processing notes:
The photo was cropped from Landscape to Portrait, resized by ca 150 pct. and slightly sharped. Only few changes were made to the resulting TIF, only pulling down the Whites by 100 and the light ca. -35- This was enough to bring out the fiery orange of the moon rise.Exif information:
