Sunflower Girl

This photograph was taken in Hitchin sunflower fields, in Hertfordshire, England in the summer of 2023. I was taking pictures of the sunflower fields per se but met a young eastern European couple and asked if I could take their picture. In earlier months Hitchin is also famous for its lavender fields which stretch as far as the eye can see. Another very striking scene in this part of England are the rich, yellow rapeseed fields that one can see for a couple of weeks around April. I had a single off camera flash (GODOX 300) with me and exposed for the dramatic mid-afternoon sky while illuminating the subject.
