Moon over Morro Rock
It was around sunset, and I wanted an image of the moon over Morro Rock. The sky was very clear, and there was a beautiful light gradient across the sky as the sunset was on the right side of the frame (out of the frame), and the moon was to the left. From this particular angle I was able to capture the light gradient. The transition of light into darkness with the one point of light remaining, the moon. Black and White was the best way to show this transition.
Post processing notes:
Image was captured on October 12, 2021 using an Olympus E-M1 mark ii, 12-40mm zoom lens at 15mm and f/7.1. The original image was an HDR composite in On1 Photo Raw 2021 of 3 different exposures centered at 1/30s. In develop I adjusted the highlights down, and shadows up a little while increasing contrast. I really wanted to bring out a smooth light to dark gradient, and bring out the moon. I did some local adjustments on the moon to make some detail a little visible.Exif information:
