Extravagant, unfinished. Longwood was going to be an awe inspiring mansion – until the owners money (tied up in cotton) went up in smoke. Only the first floor was complete – the remaining floors left as a testament to the transient-ness of riches. This photo was taken one of the unfinished floors.
