Outdoor auction, St. Jacob’s Farmer’s Market, Waterloo Ontario. Early afternoon on a clear sunny Spring day. I am very pleased with how the final image captured the action of the moment, the confidence of the Mennonite farmer and the gracefulness and power of the horse. In addition to expressing movement, I was aiming to communicate the electicity in the air from the rapid fire voice of the auctioneer and the seriousness of the moment for both the seller and the bidders.

Post processing notes:
I used ON1 PhotoRAW Max 2026 (latest version). The most useful tool was the Motion filter which allowed me to keep the viewer's eye on the horse and seller... and use the blur of the audience to communicate the action before them. I also used a Depth Lighting filter to ensure the horse and seller stood out, and to highlight the textures of the horses coat and mane.Exif information:
