Guardian of the City
After visiting the Basilica of Our Lady of Guadalupe, you set out to ascend to the original shrine on Tepeyac Hill. If you make the climb after midday and luck is on your side, the path will reward you with one of Mexico City’s most breathtaking views: you will see the Basilica’s guardian angels—watchers over this great metropolis—meeting the protective mantle of sunbeams that pierce the clouds to illuminate the city’s hidden corners.
