On a trip to Yellowstone in 2024 we visited the Grand Prismatic Spring. While walking behind 2 of my sons on the path around the spring, I thought all of the steam being blown around by the wind looked very surreal and I grabbed this photo with my Nikon D7200 and 18-300mm lens at 18mm, 1/500, f/6.3, ISO 100. Post processing notes:
All editing was done in ON1. I used the Channel Mixer with BW Infrared style to convert the image to black and white. I used the perfect eraser tool to remove some distracting people that were ahead of them on the path. I used some local adjustments with masking to make them stand out a bit more against all of the steam, and I applied a vignette and NoNoise AI to the final image.Exif information:
