Dunlin in the bubbles
This photo was taken on 4/29/2026 near Grays Harbor, Washington, during the annual shorebird festival. Over 60,000 birds were counted in the harbor migrating to Alaska in a single day of the 3 week + migration season. Grays Harbor is the last major stopover on the migration. It was taken from the footbridge on the path to Bottle Beach bird viewpoint near Westport, Washington. Thousands of Dunlin are seen here at this time.

I used ON1's No Noise AI to sharpen, Super Select AI to select the bird with local adjustments for structure and haze. Then I used Tone and Color sliders in Develop plus cropping, resizing, exporting, and converting to JPEG.Exif information:
