Arabian nights
This photo was taken on a trip into the Sahara desert in Morocco for 2025 New Year. I took the photo under very dark conditions of the Bedouin camp with their wonderful Berber lamps and carpets laid out on the sand. I had to push the camera’s ISO to quite an extreme in order to capture the true ambiance of the desert camp at night. This photo for me really brings back the atmosphere of that desert camp at night every time I see it.
Post processing notes:
I used ON1 Photo Raw 2026 to heavily edit this photo. High ISO had left the photo very noisy so NoNoise AI was used to fix that. Colour saturation and lighting levels were adjusted and due to the lack of detail showing through in the sky despite my high ISO I decided to use ON1's Sky Swap AI to add a new more detailed sky that better represented what the desert sky looked like that night once your eyes had adjusted to the dark and how my photo would have looked had I brought and tripod and exposed for the sky.Exif information:
