Patriot’s Refuge shows a lone stilt house in vivid red, white, and blue against a stormy black-and-white sea. Waves crash as it stands resilient yet exposed, symbolizing identity, endurance, and the fragile balance between human presence and nature’s power.
Post processing notes:
To create the final look of Patriot's Refuge, I combined several advanced post-processing techniques to emphasize both drama and resilience. Working primarily in On-1 Raw Max 2026, I used Depth Lighting, Lens Blur, and Dynamic Contrast to isolate the fishing hut from its surroundings. This selective treatment enhances visual separation, directing the viewer's attention to the structure while creating a stronger sense of depth within the composition.
The dramatic sky was crafted by combining an aerial image captured with my DJI drone with Luminar Neo's Sky Replacement and Sky Enhancement tools. These enhancements transformed the atmosphere into a powerful, storm-filled backdrop that reinforces the emotional impact of the scene.
To heighten the sense of nature's relentless force, the crashing waves surrounding the fishing hut were created using Google Gemini AI and carefully integrated into the composition. This final element amplifies the visual narrative, portraying the fishing hut as a symbol of perseverance and endurance against the overwhelming power of the sea.
The resulting image is intended to celebrate resilience…standing firm amid chaos, while blending traditional photography with modern digital artistry to produce a compelling visual story.
