ISO 10,000 Would-Be Trash
Date: June 2026. Location: Wilson, Wyoming. It’s the morning of the day we begin our long 3-day journey home after 11 exhilarating days driving through Zion, Yellowstone, and finally, Grand Tetons. No sooner do we pull away from our Vrbo and approach Moose-Wilson Road, we encounter this young male moose grazing amongst the aspens across the road. I grab my Canon R7 with 100-400mm zoom attached and start snapping away. In the excitement, I had failed to check any of my camera settings. Thrilled with what I was sure was some great shots, we headed home. Once home and making my way through over 3,200 photos, I was crushed when I came across the shots I took of the moose only to see that they were shot at 10,000 ISO. The images were white, flat, fuzzy, and most of all NOISY. Normally, that means garbage, but ON1 Photo RAW 2026 NoNoise AI proved that one man’s garbage can now be saved and transformed into that same man’s treasure.
Post processing notes:
I used ON1 Photo RAW 2026 to edit the photo and Photoshop CS4...yes, still using CS4 from 2008...for cropping and printing. In Photo RAW 2026 I first applied "Lens Correction", then used "NoNoise AI" and "Tack Sharp AI" to handle that awful 10,000 ISO noise. Next, I used "Brilliance AI" and then tweaked the results under "Tone & Color" and moved to "Local" to create masks for both the Moose and the surrounding Flora and made little tweaks for both. And finally, I finished under "Effects" by applying a "Big Softy" Vignette.Exif information:
