Living in the UK, our son’s last minute decision to get married in Las Vegas gave us a once in a lifetime opportunity for a US road trip. We knew we wouldn’t get a chance to repeat it, so every photo had to count. This was our first view of Zion National Park dramatically revealed after a one mile hike along a trail that hugs the cliff faces.
The photo was taken with my my Panasonic S5 and 20-60mm lens. Taken at F8, 1/500s, ISO200
Post processing notes:
ON1 Photo Raw. I have created a suite of presets for different types of photographs. This photo was edited using my Mountain Scenery preset, which mainly uses Dynamic Range, Sharpening, Sunshine and HDR filters. All filters were subtly applied using hand-brushed masking. Global filters were used to add a Vignette and some Color Adjustment (mainly to enhance the orange/reds). Finally a small amount of dodging and burning using local adjustments. Even though the photo was taken with a relatively low ISO, some noise reduction has been applied.Exif information:
