Too Close
Photo is of a Black Bear at the edge of the Siuslaw Nat Forest. We have a raised deck on our property in the forest and I was fortunate to get a close up of the bear’s face from behind a railing looking down about 10 feet at the passing bear. Using a 150-600mm lens with a crop sensor camera allowed me to get a full frame photo of just the bear’s face.
Post processing notes:
The photo was taken in the early morning hours just after dawn resulting in a 2 stop underexposed photo with an ISO of 6400. ON1 was able to reduce the high noise level as well as bring out the shadows of the underexposed photo. I did a slight sharpness adjustment as well as relatively minor tonal adjustments. I also cropped in from the sides to give the bear a portrait look.Exif information:
