Pieters Grandparents with sons
Color and stains restored on this Cabinet Card photograph by Henry Kisch, a prominent 19th-century resident photographer in Ladysmith, South Africa. He is best known for his contemporary photographs documenting the Second Boer War, specifically the grueling 118-day Siege of Ladysmith (November 1899–February 1900)
It is also an image of my wife’s other great, great great grandparents taken in the town of Ladysmith, in South Africa. The photo is from a family album with pictures taken during the mid to latter 1800’s.
