Taking a snap across a grassy sportsfield with a telephoto lens of some pink and grey Galahs as they popped their heads up out of the grass, I ended up with this mostly out of focus grass field and a sharp head pic. I love the effect and how it immediately brings attention to the birds eye and head.
Taken with a Sony RX10 iv Bridge camera on 29 January 2026 at 220mm, ISO 250 , f 4.0 and 1/500 sec with EV of 1.3
Post processing notes:
Used ON1 Raw to sharpen , increase saturation slightly, crop, and highlight the birds natural colouring.Exif information:
