Veil of Time
A long exposure transforms the falls into a luminous veil, revealing the quiet dialogue between water, stone, and time. Taughannock Falls is located in the Finger Lakes region of New York State. The falls are 33ft. higher than the more well known Niagara Falls.
Post processing notes:
I saw this photo as a possible black and white and set out to see how it would look. I started with general, overall editing using Brilliance AI. I made some adjustment to make the water stand out a little more from the gorge. I used SuperSelect AI to select the gorge walls in order to lighten them enough to bring out some detail in the layers. Once I felt I had the color version looking good I applied the TRI-X 400 preset and made some adjustments. One thing I did was to treat the photo as if I was shooting in B/W originally. In that case I would use an orange filter and I did here. Finally, I added a light vignette and very light sepia tone.Exif information:
