Sentinel of the Sea
Perched above the rocky Maine coastline, Portland Head Light watches over the Atlantic as dusk settles along the horizon. Gentle evening light and rhythmic surf create a scene of quiet strength, solitude, and enduring coastal presence.
Post processing notes:
This is one of the first photos I edited when I switched to ON1 Photo RAW last year. In the original RAW file, the foreground rocks were dark with just a hint of detail and the sky didn't quite have the color that I saw at the time. I started with an overall edit using Brilliance AI. Next, I used SuperSelect AI to mask the rocks and the sky (separately). I did a tone enhancer on each, lightening the rocks and darkening the sky. On the sky, I also applied some vibrance to bring out the colors. Finally, I applied noise reduction.Exif information:
