Looks can be Deceiving

Here is Crozet, VA the Dulles International Airport in Washington, D.C. is about
hundred miles away. On a clear days the commercial airplanes will crank up the vapor trails.
Can be as many as a dozens or more planes and vapor trail.
I was following the Delta jet approaching the vapor trail of the smaller corporate jet.
The smaller jet was clearly at a different attitude, location and well ahead of the Delta plane but
the perception was that it traveled though the vapor trail of the Delta plane.
They say, “luck is when preparation meets opportunity”. I got lucky.
