Yellow-crowned Night Heron prepares breakfast
Shot at 8:28am on 6/27/25 using my Nikon Z8 and 600mm PF lens at 20 fps. The challenge is to capture the right moment when the heron tosses the crawdad preparing to swallow the main body. It must remove the pincers prior to the final toss. I really like catching the pincer in his mouth as the crawdad was falling to the ground.
Post processing notes:
Using Photo Raw Max 2025 I was able to crop the image, adjust the white balance, add HDR and Vignette. I then used the NoNoise to finalize the image.Exif information:
