Vernadean – Mystics of Time – 2022

Mobile, AL is the birthplace of Mardi Gras (not New Orleans. 🙂 ). One of the most popular Mardi Gras parades is the Mystics of Time parade which features 3 fire-breathing dragon floats. The first, largest, and scariest is mama dragon, Vernadean, followed by her 2 less frightening babies, Verna and Dean. This photograph was taken on a busy city street crowded with parade goers. I felt Vernadean needed magical surroundings a little more in keeping with her look, and On1 had just the right tools I needed to help with this. The parade organization featured this photograph in their main guest room during the Mardi Gras Ball.

Post processing notes:

I first used NoNoise as I do with all my photographs. The most important tool, however, was the Sky Swap. I believe I may have used one of the Ocudrone skies on this photograph, although I'm not positive, and this particular sky was exactly what I thought Vernadean needed. I also used Dynamic Contrast and Grunge in the Effects Tab.
