The 2 Solitary Yellowstone Sentinels
This photograph of a single bison and a single tree in the foreground in Yellowstone NP was taken August 8, 2016. It was reprocessed using On1 2025 Photo Raw. The camera was a Canon 5D Mark III, a 24-105 lens set at 105mm. Camera settings were: ISO = 100, 1/125 sec shutter speed and f11 aperture.
My interpretation of this scene was that of 2 guardians of Yellowstone NP, hence the 2 solitary sentinels. My submittal is a 16×9 panorama crop.
Post processing notes:
The apps used in the processing and what was done by each were: - a Sky replacement - a more interesting cloud structure - Dynamic Contrast - increase details in each of the subjects - Match Color - increase color using a downloaded autumn scene as a reference (masked out the sky) - 2 Tone Enhancer filters (1 for each subject) - brighten up each subject independently - A Sunshine filter off camera to the right with a gradient filter, a luminosity mask and a sky mask - brighten up the image with a fade off towards the left. - Color Enhancer with an Overlay blending mode to give the whole image a contrast popExif information:
