SUMMER ZEST
I was looking to shoot a summer vibe, decided on an orange theme.
I was lucky enough to know a local model Darcie, with the perfect hair and and look that could bring it to life.
Worked on a very tight budget, I hadn’t got any studio space so decided that I had just enough space to shoot it at home.
Bought a orange A1 art board as a background and managed to fit 3 light stands in a very tight space.
Lit using speed lights either side with strip boxes and a beauty dish at the front whilst I hand held a reflector to bounce some light back upwards
Darcie happened to have an orange top which was perfect and then all we needed was a slice of orange
There was a lot of shuffling in the tight space, but eventually we managed to get this shot that we both loved.
Post processing notes:
Popped the image into ON1 and looked through the presets to see if I could get a good starting point Gritty Portrait was the set that I focussed on and it didn't disappoint, clicked through and although I was spoilt for choice I eventually went for GP6, it was perfect, ust made the image pop without looking unnatural which is essential when editing portraits The only thing I needed to do after that was adjust the highlights down slightly, but that was it. I loved the image and so did DarcieExif information:
